Richard (Dick) Bogert, passed away on January 25th of this year. What few people realize is that Dick is the reason the JMHS Foundation exists. In 1997 he told me John Marshall needed its own foundation! In 1998 he gave us $2,500.00 to get started, never expecting that in 2021 we would have raised over $2.5 million dollars to help John Marshall, its students, and staff in so many aspects including, academics, athletics and scholarships. During the 80’s and 90’s Dick singlehandedly funded the John Marshall football program, paying for assistant coaches, equipment, buses, a weight room and anything else the team needed until they won the state championship. His generosity and wisdom are as amazing now as they were in 1997! God blessed John Marshall then and it continues even today!
